Holding The Light

The glow in this painting was created with contrast and control. In life, clarity comes from knowing what matters and what doesn’t. When everything feels heavy, you don’t fix it by doing more you fix it by choosing where to put your energy. I kept the light source clean and intentional, then surrounded it with darker, muted values so the light had room to breathe. In our lives, that looks like protecting what’s important and being clear about what we’re holding onto. Everything doesn’t need a reaction. Some things are better left in the background so your true light can stand out. Warm lights feel brighter when set against cooler surroundings, just like kindness, care, and warmth stand out more when the world feels cold. Letting the glow emerge gradually not all at once, shows that nothing worth building happens overnight. Growth takes time.
