Guarded Spirit

Do you ever feel like you have a guardian spirit? A presence that shields you when life feels heavy, that reminds you you’re not walking alone?
This painting was inspired by that presence. Every spirit is perceived differently; here it takes the form of a dragon. Dragons are known as protectors of sacred places and treasures. What is more sacred than our spirit and our essence? In this painting the dragon’s scales glimmer like fire forged armor, and as the woman closes her eyes it coils around her from head to toe, not to consume her, but to guard her. As she floats, she is transported to her safest place where the rules of everyday life no longer apply, where noise, judgment and weight cannot reach. The dragon’s fire-forged armor will protect her, so nothing can impel her. She becomes protected within her peace.
When we feel protected, it gives us room to channel our peace within our surroundings, so that we can envision the life that we inspire, but sometimes we don’t realize that protection comes from within us. True peace is within and when you are able to access it, we can go to any place and be at peace. You will be able to rise above all of your challenges and obstacles and let your vulnerabilities be your strength.
So I invite you, through this artwork, to go to your safe place, and rise above your challenges, where they become part of your unique and beautiful experience. Because in those challenging places, you will have access to your peace and nothing can impel you because your guardian surrounds you.
